Norwegian Egg Coffee (Lutheran Church Size) Bring 7.5 gallons of water in a kettle to a boil on the stovetop. Combine coffee grounds, eggs and 3 cups of water in a bowl. Add egg/coffee mixture to the boiled water. Boil 2-3 minutes. Remove from the heat and add 12 cups of cold water to settle the grounds to the bottom of the kettle. Serve hot.

1 cup regular grind coffee; 6 cups boiling water; 1 egg; 1 cup cold water; Instructions. Use a graniteware (enamel) coffee pot. Wash egg; break it into a small bowl, reserving shell, and beat slightly. Add 1/2 cup cold water, the 1 cup ground coffee and the reserved egg shell, crushed. Mix thoroughly. Turn into coffee pot; pour on boiling water, and stir.
